Screeni Privacy Policy

Screeni (“we,” “our,” or “the app”) is a parental screen time control application developed by Macintech, based in Mexico. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use Screeni.

1. Information We Collect

Parent Accounts

• Apple Sign In data: Name and email address as provided by Apple during authentication. We only receive the information Apple shares based on your choices.
• Family configuration: Child names, profile photos (avatars), task definitions, schedule settings, break configurations, and screen time rules you create within the app.
• Device tokens: Apple Push Notification service (APNs) tokens to deliver notifications about task completions, schedule changes, and other family events.
• Purchase history: In-app subscription status is managed through Apple’s StoreKit 2. We do not process or store payment information directly.

Child Accounts

• Anonymous authentication: Children join using a family code and anonymous authentication. No Apple ID, email address, or personal account is required for children.
• Child profile data: First name and optional avatar photo, as entered by the parent.
• Device activity data: Managed app selections and screen time usage tracked through Apple’s FamilyControls framework. This data stays on-device and within the family group.

Analytics

• We collect only a user identifier for basic analytics (e.g., active user counts). We do not perform behavioral tracking, build advertising profiles, or collect browsing history.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

• Authenticate parents and link family members
• Manage screen time schedules, tasks, and rewards
• Deliver push notifications about family activity
• Sync family data across parent and child devices
• Process and verify subscription status
• Maintain and improve app functionality

3. How Data Is Stored

• Cloud storage: Family data is stored in Supabase, a cloud database platform. All data is encrypted in transit using TLS/SSL.
• On-device storage: Screen time configurations, managed app selections, and schedule data are stored locally using App Groups for communication between the main app and system extensions.
• Row-Level Security: Database access is restricted so that each family can only read and modify their own data.

4. Children’s Privacy

Screeni is designed to be used by families, including children under 13. We take children’s privacy seriously and comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and applicable provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) regarding minors:

• Parental consent: A parent must create the family account and invite children. Children cannot create accounts independently.
• Minimal data collection: We collect only the child’s first name and optional avatar, as entered by the parent. Children authenticate anonymously with no personal credentials.
• No behavioral tracking: We do not track, profile, or target children with advertising.
• No direct contact: We do not collect email addresses or contact information from children.
• Parental control: Parents can view, modify, or delete all child data at any time from within the app.

5. Third-Party Services

Screeni integrates with the following third-party services:

We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with advertisers or data brokers. We do not use third-party tracking SDKs. We do not display ads.

6. Data Retention

• We retain your data for as long as your account is active.
• You may request deletion of all family data at any time by contacting us at the email below.
• Upon account deletion, all associated family data (profiles, tasks, schedules, completions, and avatars) will be permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.
• On-device data can be removed by uninstalling the app.

7. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical measures to protect your information:

• TLS/SSL encryption for all data in transit
• Row-Level Security policies restricting database access to authorized family members
• Anonymous authentication for children (no credentials stored)
• No storage of payment information (handled entirely by Apple)

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Export your data in a portable format

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the app or via email. Continued use of Screeni after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
